Mysticism
Mythology
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 5]
This skill allows the character a general knowledge of spiritual and
religious matters, the gods and the creation myths. While it will not grant
access to the arcane secrets of Divine Lore,
it is not restricted to any one faith.
Legend Lore
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 5]
This skill gives the character knowledge of the legends and tales of
ancient times, including the tales of the Elder Races, but little about
the gods. This is a useful skill if you wish to start exploring ancient
tombs and dungeons.
Prophesy
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 10]
With this skill, the character will periodically recieve a vision of
the future. The details will never be particularly specific, and the timescale
will usually be uncertain, but all prophesies will come true in some way
eventually.
Fortune Telling
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 10]
This skill is more controllable, but less reliable than Prophesy.
By using a chosen method (Tea Leaves, Tarot Cards, Entrails, whatever)
the character can glean an answer to a specific question regarding a general
matter. The answer will always be open to interpretation, and will often
not be obviously helpfull, but will be accurate in its way.
Regenerative Trance
[Single-use, base cost: 25]
This skill allows the player to enter a healing trance. Whilst in the
trance the player regains life points at the rate of 1 for each complete
minute.
Detect Enemy
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 10]
This skill allows the character to evaluate a potential enemy when
first meeting them. However the circumstances may change so that someone
who was friendly becomes an enemy, and what constitutes an enemy in this
case depends more on your faith than their intentions. This skill can also
be used to tell if an ambush is ahead.
Weather Sense
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 5]
This skill allows the character to discern the weather on a coming
adventure, although weather being what it is you'd be lucky to get the
difference between fine and stormy correct.
Resist Elemental Magic
[Single-use, base cost: level2]
With faith to sustain you, you can stand firm in the face of any force,
and all the rational arguments in the world will not sway you. With this
skill (bought at sufficient level), a priest can resist any spell he knows
is based on rational study. In practice, this means he can resist any elemental
spell.
Transcend Body
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 15]
This skill allows the player to be able to take damage without interrupting
the casting of the spell. The spell will still be disrupted if he moves
though.
Note: This skill is also available in the Intellect
skill list.
Maintain Concentration
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 15]
This skill allows the spell caster to be able to move whilst casting
spells. The spell will still be disrupted if he is struck however.
Note: This skill is also available in the Intellect
skill list.
Divine Lore
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 25]
With detailed study of the religious texts, the character learns the
deeper secrets of a chosen religion and specific deity. This skill is required
for understanding the difficult spiritual magic of level 5 ("Cleric") and
above. This skill is also required when enchanting spiritual items.
Prepare Artifact
[Unlimited-use, base cost: 15]
This skill allows the character to prepare an artifact for sacred enchantment.
He must be present at the construction of the item to conduct the necessary
rites. The item must be made specifically, preferably by the priest but
certainly by a devotee, and certain specific conditions must be in place
for the process. The details will be left up to the ref at the time.
Once the item has been prepared, it must be charged up by having the
desired spells cast into it. When the spells have been discharged the item
must be prepared for recharging with a lesser form of the ritual.
Divine Intercession
[Single-use]
This skill can have as many eps piled in as the character desires,
mounting up until the skill is used, when they are all blown.
With this skill, the priest can call upon his god for assistance. The
nature and magnitude of the intervention is dependant on the number of
eps spent on the skill and the character's standing within the church hierachy,
ranging from slightly hampering a single foe to smiting all before you
and teleporting you and your allies to safety on your home plane.
