Humid Air
The thick night air, soupy and cloying
A sheen on my skin, sticky and glistening
The day's filth clings, a slick patina
Heat vapour radiates, a musk stench shimmer
Oil sheen glow, grease film glean
Naked, clothed in acrid air; stale, stroking skin
Languid motion of muggy room breeze
Hints of freshness, fleeting as dreams
Breathe in warmth like hot shower vapour
Inhaling humidity, tasting the temperature
Every window gaping, gulping at nothing
At the muggy humid haze, hanging, unmoving
Electric fan on full force, fails to make a mark
As muffled midnight music, rolls out in the viscous dark
