Weapon Group Skill-List Cost Notes
Dagger Agility Free See footnote 1
Cudgel Strength 3 Mace, axe, clubs etc.
Sword Agility or Strength 3 Short sword or long sword
Shield Agility or Strength 5 Do not need to buy Weapon-Combo
2 Hand Weapon2 Strength 3 Bastard swords, claymores, huge axes etc.
Polearm2 Strength 5 Halberd, glaves, quarterstaff.
Staff2 Agility 3 NOT polearms.
Thrown Agility 3 No, you can't throw your claymore.
Bow2 Agility 5 Short bow, long bow.
Cross-Bow2 Agility 3 Includes firearms if you ever find any.
Weapon-Combo Agility 5 See footnote 3

Foot notes:

  1. Dagger-use is free, but if you want to use any critical strikes that involve a dagger (e.g. Cut-throat), or you want to increase your damage (e.g. with Weapon Adept) you must buy the skill at 1 ep.
  2. Cannot be used as part of a weapon-combo (they use both hands).
  3. A weapon-use is assumed to be for your best hand (except for those weapons requiring both hands). Using a weapon in your off-hand is at -1 damage. This particulary applies if the weapon is part of a weapon combo.
    Weapon-use can be bought for your off-hand at the same price, and negates the -1 penalty.
