Contents:-
[Animate/Deanimate]
[Heal/Harm]
[Read/Write Mind]
[Alter Body]
- Animate/Deanimate.
- Animation is the spark of life. It implies no sentience, no intellgence and no soul. Dead bodies, statues and even floor mops can be animated. Targets can be Animated multiple times, which means they must be Deanimated an equal number of times before they will cease to operate.
Notes :
Animation is subject to Duration.
Animated objects have no mind, and thus will not do anything unless some instructions are implanted with Write Mind.
Deanimation, if not cast upon something that has been previously Animated, is considered a Harm effect.
Animate components can be stacked to increase strangeness.
- Simple (zombies, something capable of moving itself)
- Medium (skeletons, something once capable of moving itself)
- Strange (statues, suits of armour, severed hands, things that can move)
- Very Strange (tables, chairs, things that shouldn't move)
- Bizarre (swords, mops, playing cards, things that can't move)
- Heal/Harm.
- This component can be used to add or remove life points to a living (or animated) body. Any Life points added above a subject's normal hit capacity are subject to the spell's Duration. "Harm" is also sometimes referred to as a "Life Blast".
Heal/Harm components can be stacked to increase damage.
- 1 hit
- 2 hits
- 4 hits
- 6 hits
- 10 hits
- Read Mind/Write Mind.
- This component is telepathy. Minds of thinking creatures (those considered to have mastered language) can be read and understood, even if their language is not. Suggestions and commands can be implanted in their minds, which they may or may not pay heed to, but will consider as their own thoughts unless given reason not to (see also Charm Magic for more on Mind-Effects).
Read Mind/Write Mind components can be stacked to increase complexity.
- Basic emotions/simple suggestions ("I'm hungry", "Eat that bread" or "Go away").
- Surface thoughts/fairly simple suggestions ("I haven't eaten all day", "Go and get something to eat")
- Underlying thoughts/involved suggestions ("I've been standing guarding this door all day", "Go and get some bread to eat")
- Deeper motives/complex suggestions ("It is my duty to guard this door", "Go and get an egg and bacon sandwhich to eat")
- Inner secrets/intricate suggestions ("I am afraid to face the possibility that there is no good reason for me to be guarding this door", "Go to Ted's inn and buy an egg and bacon sandwhich with extra mayonaise")
- Alter Body.
- With this component, a living (or once living) body can be reshaped and reformed into new shapes either beneficial or detrimental. This component can be required to heal particularly extensive damage (crushed or severed limbs for example). If you add body parts to a creature not born with them (e.g. extra limbs, or wings) the creature is unable to use them at all unless Write Mind (level 5) is cast by a creature who is familiar with the body part. If the spell caster was not born with the body part, he must Read Mind (level 5) on a creature that was, or add Familiarity.
Alter Body components can be stacked to increase complexity.
- Simple (reset broken bone, change skin tone)
- Moderate (toughen bones, lengthen teeth, alter appearance)
- Involved (add claws, add poisoned fangs, alter breed)
- Complex (add extra limbs or organs, add wings, alter gender)
- Intricate (alter species)
